We went out for a fall colors drive last Sunday, but it was dreary and gray. I soooo wanted to see this on a brilliant fall day. Oh, well...the winter rains have hit SW Washington! I find myself so disappointed with the colors because I've seen pix of it on a sunny day in the fall, so compared to that, this is blah. Maybe you can give me some honest feedback on whether it's a keeper or not. Thanks!

I'd never heard of these things till I saw them at Costco and had to buy a bunch! They have tiny little pumpkins on them and even have thorns like rosebushes! You can read about it here

Can any of you Daily people explain to me how the site decides the positioning of the photos? Is it older posts at the back, most popular at the front or what?

Wow, what a surprise I got tonight! I decided to head to the viewpoint of the Columbia River Gorge for sunset, since it was a clear day. I had planned out my shot and had gotten back in my car to wait for the sunset color to deepen. The wind was really blowing, and it was freezing up there. I got out when the sun hit the Vista House like this, and to my amazement, there was the full moon!! If I had stayed out there all along I would have seen it rise over the mountains. DOH!

We went to the hot-air balloon festival in Albany, Oregon this weekend. Last year I couldn't get anything sharp in the dark, so I was pleased to get something passable this year. I had to Photoshop the moon back in 'cuz I couldn't get the exposure right for both in the same picture.
